Slightly Healthy Chocolate Muffins

Hello! I know I haven't posted in awhile, and I'm sorry. I had Mid-Terms and school, and things like that. But here I am!!

So, as you can see, I edit my photos know. I'm so excited!! I found this web site called Pic Monkey.
Ever since I found out about Pinterest (thanks to my mom), I've seen all these edited pictures. I have always wondered how and where they edit pictures.
Okay, okay...enough about editing and more about what I made.
I made: Slightly Healthy Chocolate muffins, or how Yammie's Noshery calls it:

Secretly Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins. Instead of using straight up sugar, she uses applesauce, bananas, and a little bit of brown sugar. YUM!! Oh, and there is no fat. No butter, no oil.

I've been wanting to try one of Yammie's recipes. She actually has 3 recipes in the labeled: Secretly Heathy. She has an AMAZING blog, she's one of my favorites!
Her photography and editing skills are, like, 10x better thank mine. But then again I am only 12 year old (13 years old in May).

Slightly Healthy Chocolate Muffins:

1 egg
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup applesauce (I used natural)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup mashed bananas (about 2-3 bananas)
1 cup all-purpose flour (or substitute it with oat flour)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cocoa powder
Chocolate chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease muffin tin, or line with muffin tins. Whisk together the egg, sugar, applesauce, vanilla, and bananas. Mix the dry ingredients and add to the wet. Mix just until combined. Add some chocolate chips if you want. Bake for about 20-25 minutes.

I hope you guys liked this recipe as much as me and my family did.

Let's get Savory

UHG... I've not been so good this week. My allergies have been KILLING me.
This morning I had a LOVELY allergy attack. Which includes, coughing, sneezing, eyes watering, sweating and crying. BLAH!!
I didn't go to school on Wednesday, and on Thursday I had early dismissal.

I know, this is a baking blog, but I decided to share my Sunny Paris Dip.
My friend, Nel, and her family found this recipe and she would take it to school all the time and we would eat it with sugar snap peas, or some chips. She gave me the recipe, but I lost it! I could only remember that it had plain yogurt and mayonnaise. She also said it had to be Duke's Mayonnaise and only Wallaby Yogurt.

I just got store brand yogurt and mayonnaise. It tastes the same. So, I have no clue what she was talking about. My other friend, Francesca, also got the recipe and instead of getting plain yogurt she got vanilla. YOU HAVE TO GET PLAIN, NO FLAVORED YOGURT.
When I opened the yogurt to make the dip, it smelled some what like vanilla, but then again, I wasn't feeling good.

The seasoning that is in the dip and makes the dip taste good is the Sunny Paris Seasoning from Penzey's. My mom and I LOVE Penzey's. If you look at our spice cabinet, more than 80% is Penzey's Spices. We get their spices because they are more fresh than store spices, and are more natural.

Sunny Paris Dip

1/3 cup plain yogurt
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1 tea. Sunny Paris Seasoning

-Mix yogurt and mayonnaise together, then add seasonings.
Refrigerate over night for best taste.

Great with potatoes, chicken, sugar snap peas, and pita chips.

Crisco Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

Long name.... I know.

Okay, so we ran out of butter. How? I have NO clue.
Anyways, I saw we had A LOT of Crisco! We had so much it wasn't even funny!!

I decided why not make a BIG cookie? I usually make cookie cake for birthdays, but my family and I haven't had a cookie cake for a while!!

On the back of the Crisco wrapper there is a chocolate chip cookie recipe.
I was surprised with this recipes because it calls for only brown sugar, and a WHOLE table spoon of vanilla!!

No wonder it was so good!!
You can get the recipe here or on the back of a Crisco wrapper.

Well, I wish I could show show you it with frosting, but i missed placed the camera and when i found it I saw this picture on it

WILLIAM!!!!!
Well, I hope you guys are having an awesome summer and an awesome Sunday!!

Super Sunday

Ahhhh...nothing like relaxing on the day before a hectic week.
Yesterday my mom and I made fold over elastic  hair ties.

My mom and I decided to make them instead of buy them, because when ever my mom and I want to buy them there $3 for one!! It is much cheaper to buy the fold over elastic here
They come in many types of colors, and prints.

As you can see (above) we got silver sparkle, pink sparkle, orange, melon green, purple, sky blue, dark pink, and white. We also got black and light pink.

Anyways, not only is the family relaxing, so is little Layla!!
Sunday also means... COUPONS!!

My mom use to coupon A LOT about 1 or 2 years ago.
I don't coupon as much as my mom use to but, I coupon!! :)
My family likes to save money, I mean, why doesn't?

When we use coupons, we usually go to Target. And my favorite coupons have to be make up, soap, and nail polish. :)
So, thats my Sunday. Comment what you do on Sundays!! ;)
